Prince William reacts to a BBC investigation about the infamous Princess Diana’s interview. The Duke of Cambridge broke his silence on BBC’s investigation into allegations that a reporter’s wrongdoing led to an interview with Princess Diana.

Recently a BBC reporter was accused of forging documents to secure an explosive interview with Princess Diana. That famous Panorama interview came out in 1995 when William was about 13 years old.

It is suspected that Journalist Martin Bashir used fake bank statements to persuade Diana’s consent to be interviewed for BBC Panorama. Due to this accusation, the media organization has hired independent investigators to find the truth about this infamous royal interview. Former Supreme Court Judge Lord Dyson was appointed to lead this mission.

Prince William said in a statement, “The independent investigation is a step in the right direction.” He also added, “It should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and subsequent decisions taken by those in the BBC at the time.” The 38-year-old royal dad “tentatively” welcomed the investigation.

BBC director-general Tim Davie said, “That is why we have commissioned an independent investigation…Lord Dyson is an eminent and highly respected figure who will lead a thorough process.” He also mentioned that the BBC is “determined” to get to the bottom of it.

In this exclusive interview, Diana admitted her affair with James Hewitt. For the first time, she called Camilla Bowles the “third person” in her marriage with Prince Charles. Princess Diana also denies the rumors that James Hewitt fathered Prince Harry.
